It was a weekend of doubles successes, but near misses in the singles, for various South Africans in Africa and Europe, this past weekend.

Nik Scholtz and his partner, Mark Fynn of Zimbabwe, won the men's doubles at the Futures F2 event in Harare. The duo came from a set down to beat Lock and Lammons 10-7 in the third set of the final. Earlier in the week Nik reached the semi-finals of the singles at the F2 event.

Meanwhile at Halle, Raven Klaasen and partner, Rajeev Ram, put in another consistent showing by reaching the semi-finals of the men's doubles - losing in straight sets to the Zverev brothers.

In Turkey, Lloyd Harris was one match away from qualifying for his first ATP 250 event, but unfortunately lost in straight sets in his final qualifying round at the Antalya Open. However Lloyd, subsequently gained entry into the singles main draw of the event, as a lucky loser. He will play Janko Tipsarevic, who is currently ranked 61 in the world, on Tuesday.

Finally, one of our rising U14 stars, Gabriella Broadfoot, lost in the girl's singles final at the CAT U14 clay court event in Tunisia. However, Broadfoot and compatriot, Christine Kruger, roared back to win the girl's doubles final at the same event.
