The TSA player pathway outlines an optimal development plan for junior players and focuses on six training modes or stages along that pathway.
This document has been developed to ensure South African players, parents and coaches have a clear understanding of these six training models/stages as well as the competencies required for players aged 9-12 years, 12-15 years and 15-18 years – with a special focus on the U12-U16 age groups.
The document includes guidance on: Weekly training programmes, Developing tennis fitness, The correct number and types of tournaments to play per year and player goal setting.
