Ultimately, it was a disappointing day for team South Africa at the AJC event, in Pretoria, on Friday.
 
In the boys singles semi-finals - Anro Nel put in a brave performance, but ultimately lost in straight sets to the tournament number one, Hamza El Amine.
 
Meanwhile, in the girls doubles final, there was also frustration for Boshoff and Van Zyl as they also lost to number one seeds, Zeghouli and Kabbaj.
 
The final places in the singles draws will be decided today, with South Africa fighting it out with Tunisia for overall second place at the event.

It was a day of mixed fortunes for our players at the U14 AJCs - Anro Nel is through to the boys singles semi-finals after a 6-3, 7-6 win over 4th seed, Yousse Labbene. Unfortunately Chandre Boshoff lost her girls quarter-final in straight sets to 3rd seed, Angela Aokutoyi.
 
In the girls doubles, Chandre Boshoff and Leigh van Zyl are through to the final after beating Heike Janse van Vuuren and
Naledi Manyube, 10-5 in the deciding tie-breaker.
 
Meanwhile, Devin Badenhorst and Gerard Henning exited the boys doubles at the quarter-final stage, after losing to the 3rd seeds, El Amine and Hamouti.

DOUBLES: Chandre Boshoff/Leigh van Zyl and Heike Janse van Vuuren/Naledi Manyube are both through to the girls doubles semi-finals. SA is assured of a finalist as our doubles teams face each other in the last four.

Meanwhile, in the boys doubles - Badenhorst/Henning are through to the last four after beating the tournament second seeds.
