The last few weeks have seen several coaching courses taking place - in the Western Cape and Gauteng, respectively.
The first event on the holiday coaching course schedule was a TSA National Instructor# course which recently concluded in Cape Town, with 14 coaches in attendance.
Gauteng recently welcomed a large group of 28 aspiring coaches at Clubview Tennis Club in Centurion for a TSA Play Tennis Course. Meanwhile, the second National Instructor Course concluded this past week - also at Clubview. Some of the coaches made use of the courses to update and refresh on current coaching methods.
A TSA Advanced Instructor#, commenced yesterday in Centurion with 9 coaches. Coaches complete a written exam as well as a playing ability assessments. After the courses candidates are required to complete practical hours at a registered TSA Central of Apprenticeship (CAP) Centre and then submit a portfolio that will also include video assessments.
Seven coaches from the BNP Paribas mentorship programme were/are involved in the Gauteng Play Tennis (5) and Advanced Instructor# (2) courses.
