The country's top wheelchair tennis quad ace Lucas Sithole added another title to his accolades when he clinched the British Open doubles title in Nottingham, Great Britain, on Saturday.

The two-time grand slam champion put an icing on the cake with a magnificent British Open campaign teaming up with Niels Vink from Netherlands for the doubles crown. The duo defeated Korean Kyu-seung Kim and Japanese Koji Sugeno 6-1 6-4.

The British Open, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Super Series event forms part of the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

In the singles event, the 32-year-old was as focused and determined, posting a confident win over Mika Ishikawa from Japan 6-1 6-1 in the opening round but was outplayed by Sam Schroder of Netherlands 6-2 7-6(6).

Sithole will move on to the next tournament, the Belgian Open, an ITF level 1 tournament to be played from 31 July – 04 August 2019 in Jambes, Belgium.
