The national team will start focusing their attention on the Davis Cup World Group II Playoffs, with various details having been revealed ahead of their tie to be played against Nigeria between 1-2 February next year.

It will be the SA squad's first tie since they lost 3-1 to Lebanon in their playoff clash in Cairo in September.

The campaign against Nigeria will be hosted at Groenkloof Tennis Stadium in Pretoria, with the contest to be played on hard court at altitude.

Nigeria, who are 25 places below South Africa (53rd) in the Davis Cup rankings, qualified for the World Group II playoffs after emerging from a six-team Group III tournament in Abuja earlier this year.

The winning team in the World Group II playoff clash between SA and Nigeria will compete in a World Group II tie in September, while the losing side will compete in a regional Group III event later next year.

"We look forward to hosting Nigeria for what is an important tie for both teams as they look to climb the international ladder," said Tennis South Africa (TSA) president Gavin Crookes.

"We expect the SA team to put up a strong fight against the visitors and we urge local tennis fans to show the players support as they represent our country on home soil."

Tickets to the World Group II playoff tie are available on Webtickets, starting from R100 for adults and R50 for children. Hospitality tickets are also available.
