Our players got off to a positive start on day one of the AUSC U20 Games in Botswana.
Delien Kleinhans, Robbie Arends and Thando Longwe-Smit all overcame their opponents from Mozambique and Angola, respectively. Unfortunately Ntokozo Zungu went down in three tough sets against her Zimbabwean opponent.
Speaking at the end of play, team coach, Siya Nkachela said: "The team is very jovial and looks set to surge forward and set up a chance to win us some medals, in their various events."
South Africa are competing against Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland, across nine sporting codes - namely: athletics, basketball, boxing, football, judo, netball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.

Delien Kleinhans (RSA) beat Claudia dos Santos (Mozambique) 6-4 6-1.
Robbie Arends (RSA) beat Eduardo Morais (Angola) 6-2 6-2.
Thando Longwe-Smit (RSA) beat Fernando Andre (Angola) 7-6 6-3.
