There were mixed fortunes overnight for South Africa's Davis Cup doubles pair of Raven Klaasen and Ruan Roelofse at tournaments in Europe and North America, respectively.
Raven and temporary partner, Joe Salisbury, advanced to the quarter-finals at the Barcelona Open (ATP 500 event) after edging local players Lopez & Granollers 6-2, 3-6, 10-1.
They now face 4th seeds, Marach and Pavić, in the last eight on Friday.
Unfortunately Ruan has exited the ATP Challenger in Tallahassee, USA, after he and partner , Nicholas Monroe, lost 5-7, 3-6 to Gómez and Cuevas in the round of 16.
