It was recently suggested to TSA that we shine a light on the many talented young players currently playing College Tennis in the United States.....so by popular demand the first in an occasional series on South Africans performing well in the USA.

JANET KOCH: UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS (JAYHAWKS)

A product of Curro Durbanville in the Western Cape, Janet is one of four Jayhawks who have been nationally ranked in a recent International Tennis Association (ITA) poll.

Koch and partner, Nina Khmelnitckaia, are the No. 5-ranked doubles team by the ITA. The duo's fall campaign was highlighted by winning the doubles title at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships.

Meanwhile, Koch has also been ranked in the ITA singles poll for the second-consecutive time this season. After starting the year ranked No. 124, Koch jumped in the rankings all the way up to No. 34, after defeating a number of nationally ranked opponents.

Janet is currently a senior at the University of Kansas - studying Human Biology: Pre-Med.
