Congratulations to the boys and girls tennis teams from Curro College Hazeldean, who participated with distinction at the Inter Africa Bureau de Change Highs School tennis tournament - that was held in Bethlehem over the weekend.
The Curro boys played in the A-Section and advanced to the finals where they met a strong Hoërskool Helpmekaar team. After the doubles game the scores were tied. In the singles - Michael Wessels lost in the third set tie-breaker, while Alden Coetzee won his match in the third set tie-breaker. After NJ Coetzee won his match in straight sets the pressure was on Johann Coetzee to take at least one set for Curro to win. Johann did this in style and Curro College was crowned as the champion boys team for 2017.
Meanwhile, the Curro girls played in the A section and finished 8th, with Maud Tsaura being chosen by all the players as the Players Player - for True Sportsmanship.
