The SA team are ready to hit the court in their crucial Davis Cup World Group II playoff tie against Vietnam after the draw was conducted in Tu Son on Thursday.

In the opening singles match on Friday, the SA squad's most experienced player, Philip Henning, will turn out against Vietnam's top-ranked team member Nam Hoang Ly.

In the second singles rubber, SA No 1 Kris van Wyk is up against Linh Giang Trinh.

On Saturday, Henning and Christiaan Worst will face Minh Tuan Pham and Phuong van Nguyen in the doubles fixture before the reverse singles matches are contested.

"The facilities are really good here, and the draw was done very well by the Vietnamese," said SA captain Christo van Rensburg.

"This is a big tie for South Africa and we're looking forward to keeping the flag waving in Vietnam."

The winner of the tie between SA and Vietnam, to be played outdoors on hardcourt at Hanaka Paris Ocean Park, will progress to the World Group II competition this year, while the losing side will return to Group III.
