The South African under-14 boys' and girls' teams have made a strong start at the African Junior Teams Championship (AJTC) in Cairo, Egypt, held from 6–11 May 2025. This prestigious tournament serves as the African qualifier for the 2025 World Junior Tennis Finals, and Team SA is determined to secure their spot on the global stage.

The boys’ team have been drawn alongside Zimbabwe, Tunisia, and Uganda, while the girls’ team will face tough competition from hosts Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Zimbabwe.

The boys’ team, featuring Tristan Summers, Nicholas Kruger, and Veer Trikamjee, stormed to a dominant 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe in their opening match. They now prepare to face Uganda in their next group clash.

Meanwhile, the girls’ team, Lily Haley, Morakane Molaoa, and Gabriella Coetzee, delivered an impressive 3-0 win against Morocco. Their next challenge will be a tough encounter against hosts Egypt.

The teams are guided by national coaches Terrey Schweitzer and Kgotso Matshego.
