Tennis South Africa (TSA) is delighted to announce the return of the Junior Masters Championships to Cape Town after a one-year break, with the prestigious junior tournament set to take place from 26–28 September 2025 at Edgemead Tennis Club and Table View Tennis Club.
Traditionally held in Pretoria, the Junior Masters made its Cape Town debut in 2023 before returning to Pretoria in 2024. Now, the tournament will come back to the Mother City for a three-year stint (2025–2027) under a partnership with TRIO, a leading retailer of tennis equipment, apparel, and accessories.
The TRIO Junior Masters Championships will feature the top eight girls and boys in four age categories (U12, U14, U16, and U18), showcasing the future stars of South African tennis in a high-performance environment. The event offers a crucial platform for young athletes to compete for top national honours and plays a key role in the development of junior tennis in the country.
TSA General Manager, Anthony Moruthane, commented, "We are excited to bring the Junior Masters back to Cape Town, where it served up an incredible player experience in 2023. The partnership with TRIO marks an exciting chapter for this event, ensuring its growth, improved player experience, and sustainability over the next three years. Cape Town’s vibrant tennis community, combined with the great facilities at Edgemead and Table View Tennis Clubs, will provide the perfect setting for our top juniors to compete and inspire the next generation."
TRIO’s commitment to grassroots tennis development aligns with TSA’s mission to nurture talent and grow the sport across South Africa. Their sponsorship underscores a shared vision for elevating junior tennis and creating pathways for young players to excel.
Trio Founder and Director, Brad Dor, commented “As a team , we feel incredibly honoured and genuinely excited to host the Trio Junior Masters for 2025, 2026, and 2027. Tennis is more than a sport to us—it’s a passion, a purpose, and a way to invest in the next generation of South African talent.
We believe these 64 young players deserve a stage that celebrates their hard work and dreams, and we’re committed to making this tournament a highlight in their journey. This is just the beginning—we can’t wait to see these future champions in action. “Come On Over”
The Sunday finals of the event will be broadcast live on SABC Sport and streamed live on Discoversport.com.
