South Africa’s top-ranked tennis star, Lloyd Harris, made a triumphant return to Grand Slam action at Roland Garros, battling through qualifying to secure a main draw spot in dramatic fashion.

Harris delivered a standout performance in the qualifying finals, defeating former World No. 3 Marin Čilić in a gritty three-setter (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) to earn his place in the main draw. The victory showcased his resilience and signaled a strong return to form after injury setbacks.

Facing a tough first-round challenge against 17th seed Andrey Rublev, Harris fought valiantly, even snatching the second set in a thrilling 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 battle. Though Rublev’s experience prevailed, Harris proved he can compete with the best, flashing the explosive game that once took him into the Top 30.
